JAKARTA, INDONESIA — Students from schools partnered with CNL Education have secured top positions at Pearson's international Find Your Spark 2025 competition, marking a standout achievement in the contest's first year in Indonesia.
Leading the results, Karen Elysia of Pelita Nusantara Kasih Christian Junior High School was named Champion (1st Place), while Alegail Dharata Ghaniyya of SD Al-Azhar Syifa Budi Legenda Bekasi earned 2nd Runner-Up (3rd Place).
Find Your Spark 2025 is an international English-speaking competition organised by Pearson for students aged 6 to 14, designed to inspire young learners to express their ideas confidently while building creativity and future-ready skills. In 2025, the competition expanded to include Indonesia for the first time, alongside China and Hong Kong.
This year's theme, "Create with AI," challenged participants to produce a three-minute English speech video exploring how Artificial Intelligence can serve as a tool for learning and innovation. The theme reflects Pearson's wider vision, "Born to Learn, Learn More with AI," and encouraged students to combine storytelling, critical thinking, and technology.
Interest in the competition was strong from the outset. Indonesia alone produced more than 300 video submissions, underscoring the growing confidence of young learners in using English to share their ideas and the rising appetite for global learning opportunities in the region.
Entries were evaluated by an experienced judging panel comprising senior leaders, editors, and educators from across the region, including a Global Scale of English (GSE) Ambassador. Their involvement reflects Pearson's commitment to transparent, consistent measurement of learner progress and meaningful English learning outcomes.
For the winning students, the results highlight not only strong English communication skills but also creativity, confidence, and a clear understanding of how AI can be used as a tool for learning and creation.
CNL Education congratulated all winners on their success and expressed hope that the achievements would inspire more students, educators, and schools across Indonesia to take part in global learning initiatives, and to continue nurturing the spark within every child.
